Someone sent me a forward from the Kansas list regarding the new album. Nothing like a little prejudice to make our day. Unbelievable that people can trash what they have never heard.
This is NOT a "computer album". The computer is nothing more than a multi-track recorder - digital instead of analog. Wake up - virtually all multi-track recording is done this way. This is not 1975. Every Kansas album ever made was mostly overdubbed without us all playing together anyway. The main difference with this one is that we were not able rehearse in advance, but learned it in private practice and in the studio. (Carry On Wayward Son was done this way.)
5 of the six of us chose to be in the studio together. Steve chose on his own to do his vocals in Atlanta. The decision was made for me to do the keyboards because the music is very complex, I already knew it and Steve did not, and with no rehearsal that is the only option.
Wait until you have heard it to judge.
